Paul "Butch" Dixon

Paul F. “Butch” Dixon was born on February 16, 1945 in Fresno, California to parents, Paul O. and Estelle H. Chasteen Dixon. He died on May 29, 2017 at his home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 72 years. Butch was raised and attended schools in Northern, California. He moved to Oregon in 1962 and was united in marriage to H. Arlene Helfer on August 14, 1964 in Vancouver, Washington. They lived in Keizer, Oregon until 1975 when they moved to Hermiston, Oregon where they have lived since. Butch owned and operated Dixon Brothers Plumbing for many years. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed hunting, camping, playing cards and was an old Cadillac buff.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Arlene Dixon, Hermiston, OR; sons: Gregory Dixon & his wife Amber, Umatilla, OR; James Dixon & his wife Terra, Hermiston, OR; brother: Jimmy Ray Dixon, La Pine, OR; sister: Ida Fay Litell, Sacramento, CA; grandchildren: Jessica, Zach, Amy, Amanda & Thomas, great granddaughter: Harper; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents.    

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon. A gathering for family & friends will follow at the Bellinger’s The Gathering Place 1823 S. Hwy 395, Hermiston, OR.
