Melody Ann Buck Pitts of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on July 6, 1963 in Mt. Vernon, Washington to parents, Lyle and Carol Johnson Buck. She died on June 19, 2017 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington at the age of 53 years. Melody was raised in Washington until 1980 when she moved to Stanfield, Oregon, graduating from Stanfield High School. She then attended Blue Mountain Community College and later Oregon State University where she earned her bachelor degree in education. Melody worked as a substitute teacher in Stanfield and Umatilla for many years. She was united in marriage to William Pitts on June 7, 1999 in Hermiston, Oregon. Melody was a member of the Cowboy Church and The Glory riders of Oregon. She enjoyed horses, the beach, her dogs and cherished time with her grandchildren. Melody had a gift and passion for helping others.

She is survived by her husband: Bill Pitts, Hermiston, OR; step sons: William H. Pitts Jr., Beaverton, OR, Brooks Pitts, Hermiston, OR & Buqua Boomer “BB” Pitts, Olympia, WA; brother: Lyle Buck, Mt Vernon, WA; sisters: Mary Lynn Millard, Stanfield, OR & Lori Graham, Hermiston, OR; grandchildren: William III, Daniel, Autumn, Tyler, Madison & Damon.

Melody was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the Cowboy Church USR, 81012 Hwy 395 N. # 1, Hermiston, OR 97838.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Burns Mortuary of Hermiston to help with expenses.
