Margaret Ann Brown of Hermiston was born on April 19, 1952 in Portland, Oregon the daughter of Max and Bernice (Smith) York. She passed away on Tuesday December 4, 2018 in Portland at the age of 66.
Margaret grew up in Hermiston and graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1970. After high school, she attended the University of Oregon in Eugene for one year. She then attended the Emanuel Hospital school of Nursing in Portland where she received her Registered Nursing certification. After completing the nursing program she continued to live and work in the Portland area for several years.
Margaret married Kenneth Brown on November 21, 1981 in Hermiston. The couple made their home in Hermiston where she has resided since. She worked as a RN at Good Shepherd Medical Center for 25 years and at Two Rivers Correctional Institution for 10 years. She retired December of 2016.
Margaret enjoyed going horseback riding and designing and making jewelry. She loved spending time with her family (especially her grandson) and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years Kenneth; daughter, Alexis (Jonathan) Gustafson; grandson, Max; stepson, Gerad Brown and grandchildren, Keenan and Jace.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday December 15, 2018 at the Burns Mortuary of Hermiston (685 W. Hermiston Avenue Hermiston, OR 97838).
