Lois Barbara ReMillard was born November 15th, 1914 at Hospers, Iowa to parents, Charles & Alta (Simpson) Spavin. She died Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon at the age of 95.www.burnsmortuaryhermiston.com
Lois was raised in Sioux Rapids, Iowa and on May 27th, 1932 she married Miles Wilson "Mike" ReMillard in Canton, South Dakota. They moved to La Grande, Oregon in 1942 where Mike started working for the Union Pacific Railroad and was transferred to Hermiston, Oregon in 1950. They had lived in Hermiston ever since. Miles ReMillard died in 2000. Lois worked as a secretary for the East Oregonian Newspaper for many years. Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hermiston. She was very active in her church and was a member of their quilting club. Lois enjoyed riding her bike and traveling in their travel trailer.
She is survived by Son, Michael ReMillard of Kamas, UT; daughter, Shirlee Nirschl of Pendleton, OR; 6 Grandchildren; 14 Great-grandchildren; 6 Great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Husband, Miles in 2000; Parents, Charles & Alta Spavin; Granddaughter, Diane Nirschl; 2 Sisters, Elinore DuBois and Ethyl Spavin; 2 Brothers, Donald & Russell Spavin.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 15th, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Stanfield, Oregon.
