Lawrence I. Hendry of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on August 9, 1929 in Villisca, Iowa to parents, Russell and Clara Selby Hendry. He died on February 27, 2019 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 89 years. Lawrence was raised in Iowa. He joined the united States Army and served as a truck driver during World Warr II until his honorable discharge. Lawrence was united in marriage to Norma “Jean” Heatherington on September 3, 1957 in Stevenson, Washington. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a machine operator with the track maintenance department until retiring in 1992. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, tinkering and traveling. Lawrence was a “jack of all trades” and a great family storyteller.
He is survived by his wife Jean Hendry, Hermiston, OR; daughters: Lorie Hendry-Vincent, Hermiston, OR, Suse Holt, Umatilla, OR; sons: Jess McNeese and Raymond McNeese; brothers: Alfred and Donald; sisters: Dorothy and Betty Jo; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Hendry.
