Jon "Nick" McLachlan

Jon “Nick” McLachlan of Boardman was born November 10, 1943 in Salem, Oregon the son of John and Mary (Eaton) McLachlan. He passed away in Richland, WA on Friday November 23, 2018 at the age of 75.

Nick grew up and attended school in Portland, graduating from Benson Tech High School. After high school, he began working in the shipyards which was the start of his career with the Boilermaker’s Union. In the early 1980's, he worked a job in Boardman on the coal fire plant which led to his moving to Boardman in 1985. He worked as a welder with the Boilermaker’s Union until retiring in 2015.

Nick enjoyed hunting and fishing, looking after his cows and his home, visiting with his neighbors and was a past member of the Eagles Lodge in Hermiston.

Nick married Susan Stanhope in Boardman on October 16, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Todd, Nick, Johnny, Bryan, Dee and Dawn; several grandchildren and one great grandchild; sister, Debbie.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday November 29, 2018 at Riverview Cemetery near Boardman. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of final arrangements.
