Janet F (Albright) Detwiler

Janet F. Detwiler of Umatilla, Oregon, was born on November 26, 1959 in Mexico, Missouri to parents, Joseph and Doris Hovinghoff Albright. She died on October 27, 2018 in Umatilla, Oregon at the age of 58 years. She was raised and attended school in Umatilla, Oregon. Janet was united in marriage to Terry Detwiler on November 24, 1990 in Umatilla, Oregon. They lived in Baker City, Oregon and later Kalispell, Montana before returning to Umatilla, Oregon. Janet worked as the manager at the Hermiston Shari’s Restaurant and as a waitress at Frasus Restaurant. She worked in the billing department at Family Health Associates for several years until 2014. Janet enjoyed reading, church, collecting rocks, drawing and making salsa. She was a very caring person who had a huge heart and loved all animals.   

She is survived by her husband: Terry Detwiler, Umatilla, OR; mother: Doris O’Dell, Umatilla, OR; brother: Michael (Veronica) Albright, Hermiston, OR; sister: Jo Anne Schiffner, Salem, OR; aunt: Greta Lee, Portland, OR, uncle & aunt: Bob & Ethel Ferger, Richland, WA, aunt: Sheila Hovinghoff, Lyle, WA, aunt: Gracie Mills, Irrigon, OR; numerous nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her son: Travis Adams; father: Joseph Albright;  step father: Art O’Dell and uncles, Royal & Paul Hovinghoff.    

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon. 

A private family burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Umatilla, Oregon.
