Howard Dean Taylor, age 83, passed away October 25, 2017, after a long battle with cancer, at home surrounded by his loving family. He requested no services at this time. There will be a memorial picnic in his honor at a later date.

Howard was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas, on February 10, 1934. He was the sixth child of 10 born to Everett and Annie (Watts) Taylor. He attended school in Mountain Home. After school he joined the Army and spent his service time in Korea.

He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years.

His real love of life was playing and singing country music. He played lead, rhythm and bass guitars, and drums. He was a lead singer. He played by ear and could not read music from the time he was a small child. He could remember thousands of songs by heart, and played in public and private clubs all over Oregon and Washington. He also played behind many well-known famous country singers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roy, Don and Vaughn Taylor, and sisters Opal (Taylor) Robertson, Wilma (Taylor) Marler, Jo Francis (Taylor) Green and Marilyn Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Sandy of Hermiston, Ore.; son Robert Piper of Portland, Ore.; daughters Terryl (Taylor) and Vic Aichele of Hermiston, Ore., and Charmaine (McKee) Busler (Ernie Thompson) of Richland, Wash.; sister Bobbie (Taylor) Pickett (Gary) and brother Earl Ray Taylor (Barbara), all of Kansas City, Kan.; and three grandsons, Jeff (Kathleen) Aichele of Hermiston, Ore., Jon (Youngrae) Aichele of Saudi Arabia, and Stephen Busler of Phoenix, Ariz. He also has four great-grandsons, Cooper, Jackson, Hayden and Logan Howard Aichele, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
