Douglas J. “Doug” Gehlen of Umatilla, Oregon, was born on September 28, 1949 in Ellensburg, Washington to parents, Charles J. Gehlen MD and Patricia J. (Tully) Gehlen . He died on August 21, 2019 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 69 years.

Doug served in the United States Air Force from 1968 until retiring in 1989 as Master Sergeant. He then owned and operated a long haul trucking business from 1990 until 2006.

A private family burial with military honors was held at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Umatilla, Oregon.
