Deane E Friedly of Hermiston, Oregon, was born in Pendleton OR on December 31, 1929 to parents Enoch Friedly & Maude Helen Friedly. Deane passed away on December 29, 2019 in Hermiston, Oregon 2 days shy of his 90th Birthday. He was the youngest of four children, surviving brother Wayne Friedly, decreased sisters Artis Story and Janis Friedly. Deane was raised and spent his young life in Helix on the family ranch. He attended and graduated from Helix High School. After graduation he attended Eastern Oregon College for a time, returning to Pendleton to help on the ranch. During this time he met a pretty young woman named Ida Thurston, they were married in October 1952. For a time they lived in Pilot Rock where he worked in the mill. They returned once again to the ranch where they resided until he retired in 1994. At about this time he and Ida returned to her family home in Umatilla where they stayed until 2015; when they became a part of the Guardian Angel family. Deane had a jolly and joking disposition that made his caregivers smile daily. Upon moving to Guardian Angel they were “bonus parents “ to Don & Mary Ellen Tracy and Becky & Gordy Brockman. We counted ourselves blessed everyday to have them in our life’s. Deane will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of more than 65 years Ida Friedly. Dean was also a life long member of the Masonic Lodge .
At his request no formal funeral is planned, there will be a celebration of life at Guardian Angel Home in Hermiston on Friday January 3rd at 10:00 a.m.
