David Helzer

David A. Helzer was born on September 15, 1949 in Nampa, Idaho to parents, Broyce and Nola Kinley Helzer. He died on May 25, 2017 at his home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 67 years surrounded by loved ones. He graduated high school in Caldwell, ID in the class of 1968. He moved to Hermiston, OR in 1976.  He later moved to Pullman, WA for several years and returned to Hermiston in 2010 where he has lived since. David was united in marriage to Sharon Seger on November 24, 1998 in Winnemucca, NV. He was an owner operator of his own truck for many years. David then worked as a truck driver for WalMart from September of 1999 until he retired in August of 2016.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, flying, and relaxing after his retirement.

David is survived by his wife: Sharon Helzer, Hermiston, OR, son: Adam Helzer, Las Vegas, NV; daughter: Suzi Helzer, Yakima, WA; brothers: Chris Martin (Barb), Hermiston, OR, Kevin Helzer, Hermiston, OR & Dennis Helzer, Eagle Creek, OR; sisters: Margie Helzer Gibson (Dave), Salem, OR, Julie Helzer Thomas, Portland, OR & Teresa Helzer Pivek (Roy), McMinnville, OR; one grandson, Cordan Armstrong, and many nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.

A Celebration of Life will follow at the Pheasant Blue Collar Bar & Grill, 149 E. Main St., Hermiston, OR.
