Curtis “Curt” E. Buwalda of Hermiston was born November 21, 1943 in Newton, Iowa the son of Ernest and Leona (Johnson) Buwalda. He passed away on Friday December 7, 2018 in Kennewick, WA at the age of 75.
Curt moved with his family to California for a short time before moving to Hermiston, Oregon in the late 1940's. He attended school in Hermiston and graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1962. After high school, he worked for Lorenzen Ranches for a time. He then drove truck and was an accountant for John Smith & Beamer of Athena. He worked as a truck driver for Lamb Weston for 16 years and as an invertory control clerk for Gilroy Foods for several years.
Curt enjoyed going to farm sales, spending time in the mountains and camping at Cutsforth Park.
Curt Married Patricia “Patti” Davis on December 30, 1977 in Hermiston.
He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Patti; Son, Jeffrey Davis; grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis II and Ceylee Davis; brothers, Ron Buwalda and Burt Buwalda; sister, Barbara Christley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Caya Davis.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the Burns Mortuary of Hermiston (685 W. Hermiston Avenue Hermiston, Oregon 97838).
Family suggest memorial donation to either the National Kidney Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
