Clinton “Pa” Jackson was born March 12, 1925 in Waynesville, North Carolina the son of Fred and Nora (Norman) Jackson. He died on Sunday June 24, 2018 in Hermiston at the age of 93.
Clinton grew up and attended school in Waynesville, NC. He married Mattie Lee Mull in Clayton, Georgia on November 10, 1945. The couple moved to Irrion, Oregon in the early 1950's and have resided in Irrigon and Hermiston since.
Clinton enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his family at their favorite spot near the Middle Fork of the John Day. He was an avid gardener who took pride in his roses and tomatoes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie in 2000; son-in-law, Greg Loftus; two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a son, Steve (Ninette) Jackson; daughters, Janis (Scott) Barton and Lela Loftus; grandchildren, Lori, Joseph, Jill and Amanda; great grandchildren, Spencer, Jakeob, Hunter, Andrew, Grace, Carter, Jackson, Faith and Dylan. Pa often joked , “And I kinda like em all”!
A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday June 30, 2018 at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon. A dinner will follow the service at Stokes Landing Senior Center 195 Opal Place Irrigon, Oregon 97844.
