Petra (Cernas Lopez) Montes

Petra Montes was born on June 20, 1967 in Comala, Colima, Mexico to parents, Jose Regino Cernas Aguilar and Mauricia Lopez Llerena. She died surrounded by her family on her 49th Birthday, June 20, 2016 at her home in Hermiston, Oregon. She was raised in Mexico until 1986 and settled in Hermiston, Oregon in 1988, Petra married Javier Montes Carrillo on March 27, 1994 in Hermiston, Oregon. She had worked as a quality technician at Calbee Foods for several years along with raising her children. Petra was a member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston, Oregon. She enjoyed shopping, her pets, and most of all cherished time with her family.

She is survived by her husband: Javier Montes, sons: Jesse Torres, Javier Montes Cernas; daughter: Yolanda Montes Cernas, all of Hermiston, OR; parents father Jose Regino Cernas Aguilar mother Mauricia Lopez Llernas; siblings Jesus Cernas, Maria Cernas, Martha Cernas,Teresa Cernas, Ramon Cernas, Isabel Cernas, Gabriel Cernas, grandchildren: Jazlyn Jade Torres, Juliette Petra Torres, Isabel Amila Montes, Analise Jolie Montes, Javier Julian Montes; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.   

Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, Hermiston, Oregon with the funeral mass to follow at 2:30 P.M.
