Nicholas Lee “Nick” Phillips was born on January 31, 1941 in Baker City, Oregon to parents, Donald E. and Gertrude M. (Karp) Phillips. He died peacefully surrounded by his family on June 22, 2017 at his home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 76 years. Nick was raised in Ordinance and Hermiston, graduating from Hermiston High School in the class of 1959. He served in the United States Army from December 27, 1962 until he was honorably discharged on January 14, 1966. Nick worked at Marlette Homes in Hermiston for 38 years before retiring as Cabinet Shop Foreman in 2002. Nick’s love for sports was known by all with football being his real passion. His childhood passion was art, especially drawing cartoons. He loved bowling, long walks with his wife and going to air shows.

He is survived by his wife Donna Phillips, they have been together for 33 years; son: Lance Phillips, WA; daughter: Tina Rogers, WA; stepson: Thomas Landreth (Nola), CA; sister: Rosemary (Richard) Easton, Hermiston; brother: Glen (Pam) Phillips, CA; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Anthony Lee “Tony” Phillips, stepson: Ted Landreth;  brothers: Donald R Phillips and Dennis P. Phillips.      

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.

Burial with military honors will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
