Josephine "Jo" L (Southard) Parrish

Josephine “Jo” Parrish of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on December 7, 1925 in Evans, Colorado to parents, Clarence and Alma Dorsey Southard . She passed away on September 25, 2016 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 90 years. On July 12, 1948, Jo married Don Parrish at American Falls, Idaho. She was employed as a cook for the Hermiston School District for 20 years, most of that time was at West Park School. Jo was a member of the Eagles Aux. #2909 of Hermiston and the Union Pacific Employees Club.

Survivors include a son: Fred Parrish & his wife Jeannie, Camas, WA; a daughter: Linda Christophersen, and Donald Normand, Vernonia, OR; brother: Clarence Southard, Elgin, OR; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 6 siblings: Frank, Berniece, Isabelle, Laura, James, and Wally.

A private family burial will be held at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.

Those who wish may make contributions in Jo’s memory to the Shriner’s Hospital or Meadowood Speech and Hearing Camp.
