James A. “Jim” Ellenberger of Stanfield, Oregon, was born on January 20, 1945 in Pendleton, Oregon to parents, Albert and Lucille Graham Ellenberger. He died on August 11, 2017 in Richland, Washington at the age of 72 years. Jim was raised and attended schools, graduating from Stanfield High School in 1963. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a brakeman/conductor until retiring 1992. Jim served as Governor of the Stanfield Moose Lodge, on the Stanfield City Council and as director of the Stanfield Senior Center for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, clamming, hot tubbing, swimming and spending winters in Florida for several years.
He is survived by his sons: Timothy Ellenberger, Stanfield, OR and Tadlee Ellenberger, Pensacola, FL; daughter: Tina Martin, Stanfield, OR; brothers: Jerry Ellenberger, Heppner and Chris Ellenberger, Coeur d’Alene, ID; grandchildren: Brandon, Abigail, Joshua, Michael, Joey, Julia, Jenna & Jake; and a great grandson: Ezra.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Ketcherside.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1005 SE 9th St., Hermiston, Oregon.
Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Stanfield, Oregon.
