JABUDAH L. COOMBES, MILLER, GROSSMILLER

 

Jabudah Grossmiller of Hermiston, Oregon was born on March 14, 1923 in Seattle, WA as the first child of Oscar and Maude Coombes.  Jabudah passed on July 3, 2017 at the age of 94.

 

In 1928 the family moved to Baker, Oregon and continued to live until Jabudah was grown.  On December 3, 1942 Jabudah was united in marriage to Donald H Miller in Weiser, Idaho.  The young couple moved to Boise, Idaho and started a family.  Raymond Miller, Sheila Miller (Cross), Linda Miller and Pennelope Miller (Pollard, Cano) were all born in Boise.  In 1950 the family moved to Echo Meadows and then bought a small farm north of Hermiston. Benjamin Miller completed the family in 1953. 

 

Jabudah worked part-time at different jobs to help out with the family finances but first and foremost Jabudah was a Wife and Mother. In the 1970’s,  Jabudah went to work for Lamb Weston and later worked as a  Federal Food Inspector, traveling all of the Northwest. Jabudah retired in 1984 after her husband Donald passed away on December 29, 1983.    Jabudah’s greatest pleasure was traveling with Don all over the United States and abroad.

 

On June 25, 1988 Jabudah was united in marriage to Alan Grossmiller.  Jabudah and Alan embarked on many wonderful travels including moving to Baker City and then returning to Hermiston in 2002. 

Jabudah enjoyed photography, sewing, painting and drawing, writing poetry, cake decorating, gardening, traveling, music and all her wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 

 

Jabudah is survived by her husband of 29 years, Alan Grossmiller.  Daughters, Linda Miller and Sheila Miller (Cross) of Hermiston, Raymond Miller and Wife Barbara of Portland, Benjamin Miller of Hermiston;  brothers: Benjamin Coombes and wife Doris of Hermiston, Jasper Coombes and wife Lois of Baker City, George Coombes of Seligman, Missouri, Edward Coombes and wife  Karen of Spalding, Idaho and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

Jabudah was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald H Miller, daughter: Pennelope Miller (Pollard, Cano) and her first Husband, Cecil Pollard; parents: Oscar and Maude Coombes, sister: Erma and her husband Clifford Gray, brother: Donald Coombes, Sister-in- Laws: Perry, Elise, and Jean Coombes, Iris and husband Pete Blake.

 

A memorial services will be held Saturday and 11:00, August 26, 2017 at the Stanfield Baptist Church.
