Donna Schmidt

Donna Grace Schmidt of Irrigon, Oregon became one of Heaven's angels on March 24th, 2015, with her family by her side after a long battle with metastatic colon cancer. Donna was born in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho on November 23, 1942. She had many skills she put to use throughout her life. After years at home raising her children, she started working with the elderly in The Community Action Program in Longview, WA. She provided them help with all facets of life. Years later she transitioned "into the perfect job for her" as a waitress. In the early 90's she moved to Irrigon and began working at Bakes Restaurant and Lounge as a bartender and manager of the motel. She retired from the position of bar manager in 2012. 
In 1997 she met her prince charming and partner in crime and they were married in 2000. They had a love for each other most people dream of. Donna never met a stranger and was loved by all. She was compassionate, fearless and truly enjoyed all things in life. She knew the most important things in life really were the little things. She enjoyed boating, road trips, the beach, spending time with her children, playing with her grandchildren and being surrounded by friends. She was a magician with slot machines and a great cook. She had fun in every thing and was the life of the party wherever she went. 
She is survived by her husband, Jim Schmidt, daughters Nikki "Snitchy" Martin and Juanita Flanagan, Grandchildren Blaze, Tyra, Amanda, Blake and Cassie, several great grandchildren and more friends than one could ever count.

Her memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday April 11th, 2015 at Burns Mortuary Chapel, 685 W Hermiston Avenue, Hermiston, OR.

There will also be a Celebration of Life at Sub Zero (former Bakes Restaurant and Lounge)100 W Hwy 730, in Irrigon, OR, on April 25th at 6pm, in a special opening of "the back bar"
We laughed until we had to cry; we loved right down to our last goodbye. You were our angel on earth as now you are our angel in Heaven.
