Clarence Joseph Fincel was born February 24th, 1920 at St. Paul, Minnesota to parents, Joseph & Martha (Urban) Fincel. He died Monday, March 7th, 2011 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 91.
He was raised in St. Paul went to work for the Rock Island Railroad at early age. In 1942 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served until December of 1945. On June 11th, 1943 he married Nadine Lorraine Noe in New York City. After the war he returned to St. Paul and went back to work for the railroad and worked as a Switchman until he retired in 1970. They moved to Irrigon, Oregon in 1986.
Clarence attended the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hermiston, Oregon and the Columbia View Community Church in Irrigon, Oregon. He loved to go fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nadine of Irrigon, OR; 2 Sons, Gary Fincel of Boone, IA, and Jim Fincel of St. Paul, MN; Daughter, Janine Arndt of Irrigon, OR; 6 Grandchildren; 16 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Frank & Raymond Fincel.
Graveside Funeral Services with military honors will be held on Thursday, March 10th, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon.
