Charlotte V. Gooding was born on May 1, 1933 in Lostine, Oregon, the 14th and youngest child of John and Nettie Lightle Holloway. She passed away on July 22, 2017 at her home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 84 years. She spent her early years in Flora, Oregon before living in San Francisco, California and then in Pendleton, Oregon. Charlotte married Charles E. “Chuck” Gooding on July 31, 1949 in Pendleton, Oregon. They spent most of their years in Hermiston, Oregon where she was mostly a stay at home Mom, raising their children. Charlotte was an incredible seamstress who enjoyed being a homemaker, traveling, playing pinochle, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters: Darla (Bob) Taylor, Othello, WA, Rhonda (Steve) Campbell, Pendleton, OR and Tammi Williams, Hermiston, OR; grandchildren: Traci, Thad, Marty, Tygh, Ben, Seth and Drew; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; a sister: Joan Edwards, Clarkston, WA; numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 66 years, a son: Timmy,  a grandson: Tyler Campbell and 12 siblings.    

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.

A celebration of life gathering will follow at the Maxwell Siding Event Center, 145 N. 1st Place, Hermiston, Oregon. (Behind Nookie’s Restaurant)
