Alice M. Ployhar

October 2, 1939 ~ November 15, 2015 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Alice Marion (Peterson) Ployhar, long time Heppner resident, was called to perpetual life on
November 15th, 2015 after a short illness. Alice was born in Heppner, OR on October 2nd,
1939 on Gale Street. Alice was preceded in death by Ture Peterson (Father), Lucy (Spittle)
Peterson (Mother), Susan Muskthel (Daughter), and Jon Ployhar (Son).
Alice attended school in Heppner, OR, and college at University of Alaska and Cochise College
in Sierra Vista, AZ. She worked at John Williams Realty (Sierra Vista, AZ), and was a US
ARMY Civilian at Fort. Huachuca, AZ (Retired 2002). While working for the US Army she
received many awards, including USACS Employee of the Year, US ARMY Civilian
Achievement Medal, and numerous Certificates of Achievement. After returning to her
hometown of Heppner she worked for the City of Heppner and the Senior Center. Alice was a
member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Alice had many hobbies, she was a master at sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quite an
accomplished woodworker. Alice lived a quiet life and was very proud of the accomplishments
of her family. Alice was able to reconnected with many of her high school friends and was
proud to be from such a wonderful place. She especially enjoyed watching the numerous deer
in her front yard.
Alice Ployhar is survived by Marti and Steve Delimont (Daughter, Anchorage, AK), Kent Ployhar
(Son, Mulege, B.C.S. Mexico), Sisters Ruth and Bill Hazel (Coos Bay, OR) and Martha Long
(Portland, OR) as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice was very
proud of her large family, and was very proud to be Grandmother to Kevin, Robert, Lucy, Scott,
Thomas (Susan and Tim Muskthel), Stephanie, Tyler, Madison (Marti and Steve Delimont),
Kent (Kent Ployhar), and Great Grandmother to Shawnee, Trenton, Aubrey (Stephanie),
Jamison (Robert), and Grace (Lucy).
Services will be held at Valby Lutheran Church, Saturday November 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be a private ceremony for the family. Memorial contributions should be sent to
Valby Lutheran Church, 60492 Valby Rd, Ione, OR 97843.
